Support BronzeLens - 10 Years of Giving A Voice to New Stories That Need to be Shared.

About the Project

In 2019, BronzeLens Film Festival will celebrate it's 10th Anniversary. When the BronzeLens premiered as Atlanta’s exclusive multicultural film festival in 2010, Georgia was just beginning to rise as one of the nation’s top five entertainment markets. Today, the industry has surpassed the $9 Billion dollar mark in economic impact and is threatening to take sole claim of the number one market for cable/broadcast TV production! Likewise, in nine seasons, BronzeLens has experienced tremendous growth. It has promoted the work of amazing independent filmmakers of color from Atlanta, the Southeast region, the nation and the world, giving them a platform to present stories that otherwise would not be seen. Our growth since our inception is rooted in our high standards, participation by leading Hollywood professionals (including partners like Universal Films, BET, VH1, Panavision, Turner, HBO and ARRAY (an indie film releasing platform founded by BronzeLens honoree/Selma director Ava DuVernay) and success stories derived from relationships started at BronzeLens. As of 2017 BronzeLens has the distinction of becoming a designated Academy Award Qualifying Festival in the Shorts Category.

This 2018 Power2Give campaign is two pronged. We have often turned to social media, particularly FaceBook Live, to do interviews with upcoming panelists, announce our selections for festival screenings in each category and even our Red Carpet for the Awards. We promote via Instagram, Twitter and FaceBook. Our audience can follow up from anywhere in the world. For the first initiative of the campaign, we would like to utilize that medium to conduct up to three discussions with writers about creating and writing:
Documentaries, Webisodes, Shorts.   The discussions can be interactive experiences with questions submitted by participants. This will be an exciting way to talk with experts about the storytelling process. The second aspect of this campaign is to reach diverse filmmakers of colors through increased promotion, marketing and advertising. The goal of BronzeLens is to tell the stories of people of color, as well as continue to build an audience that wants to see those stories. Through increased outreach we feel we can develop an even more diverse base as we move into our 10th Anniversary year. We especially encourage those looking for charitable donations as the year ends to consider our Power2Give campaign, where your gifts are matched - dollar for dollar. A $50 donation becomes $100 to BronzeLens; a $1000 donation becomes $2000 to BronzeLens, and so on.

Thank you for your consideration of our campaign. A successful completion will allow us to enter into our 10th Anniversary year with renewed focus, enthusiasm, and passion for bringing new, untold, important stories to our BronzeLens family.
