Help bring puppet shows and workshops to preschools

About the Project

Help us introduce Atlanta’s youngest audience members to puppetry! Our fun, interactive shows can engage preschoolers while introducing them to concepts they will soon be learning in school, in areas such as science, social studies, English language arts and of course, fine arts. Our multi-cultural folktales will show them a world well outside of the perimeter in which they will hear terms like “character” and “setting”. They will be encouraged to think of ways they can help the environment, or meet the Cherokee people through their myths and legends. They will also laugh, clap along and just have a wonderful time!

Your contributions will help us expand our reach into more communities all over the city. Small preschools and those in low-income neighborhoods will be able to bring us in for a discounted fee. We will be able to bring our shows or workshops right into the classroom where the young children can see the puppets up close in a comfortable environment. When we can perform for a smaller audience, the children can interact more easily with the performance. Some will make their own puppets after the show. The funds raised will help offset costs such as puppeteer fees, gasoline and maintenance for the van, marketing to reach more venues, and taking care of our puppets.

The Piccadilly Puppets Company is a non-profit touring performance company founded in 1970. We perform original puppet shows and workshops in many different venues such as schools, libraries, recreation centers, churches, private homes and festivals. We specialize in educational entertainment in an intimate setting for ages 2-10.
