Changing the Way We All See Art

About the Project

Contemporary Zine Project
Since our temporary closure in March, Atlanta Contemporary has provided an array of virtual programming - conversations and lectures, cocktails and playlists, movement love and pop-up art making activities - there’s always something to do that "Changes The Way We All See Art" from the comfort and safety of your homes.

But … as we know … many of our communities lack access to digital technology and resources to continue education beyond the academic calendar year. Therefore, Atlanta Contemporary presents a new Summer program to continue learning and art making with our Pop-Up Zine.

Created by educator, Elisabeth Herrera, designed by Jordan Taylor, and inspired by our Friday Pop-Up Workshops currently available on our website and YouTube page (see video above) - our Contemporary Zine will be distributed through a variety of community partners we have identified on the Westside. Printed, packaged, and disbursed to families in need, our Contemporary Zine teaches kids how to think creatively, explore new materials and techniques, and become a leading contemporary artist. Each zine will also include a Contemporary Craft Box that includes necessary materials needed to make the projects.

Your donation to our campaign directly supports:

+ Compensation for the art educator and artists
+ Production costs to design and print the zine
+ Cost of art supplies to be included in the Contemporary Craft Box

The Contemporary Zine Project guarantees that kids get to experience, make, and understand contemporary art while staying creatively engaged throughout the summer months and beyond!
