Public Projects for the Virtual Realm

About the Project

The short film above by Micah and Whitney Stansell is the first project in Flux Projects's new Virtual Arts Series.

In response to COVID-19 restricting our ability to gather physically in public space, Flux Projects launched its Virtual Arts Series on April 2nd. This series features works by Atlanta artists from a variety of disciplines created especially for the virtual realm.

Finding new ways to support artists during difficult financial times is part of our history. Flux Projects was created during the recession, sparked in part by our founder Louis Corrigan’s desire to create opportunities for artist and expand the audience for their work.

For the past 10 years Flux Projects has produced temporary public art projects to connect and grow artists and audiences in Atlanta through the creative power of place. We have gathered together in public spaces from parks to parking lots, shopping malls and grand lobbies to empty lots. At the moment our shared public space is the virtual realm. While the realm has shifted, art is no less able to nurture our souls and lift our spirits.

Your Support

The Virtual Arts Series was initially created as a six-week initiative. At the time, we felt this would bridge the crises. It has not, and Flux Projects is seeking support to continue our work funding artists through this series.

Projects

New projects are presented through our website, email, Instagram, Facebook, and Vimeo platforms. Our website and an email dedicated to each project includes a way for our audience to directly support each artist.
