Help YAA’s Young Performers To “Play On”!

About the Project

WELCOME TO #YAAPlaysOn!

Help YAA keep the music playing during Covid-19. Music is what brings us together as a YAA community, and music is what can lift us up in this time ahead.  And, so we are excited to introduce a social movement we’re calling #YAAPlaysOn!

#YAAPlaysOn includes a series of FREE musical theatre activities open to the entire community:

  • Mondays @4pm, Broadway Dance Technique and Conditioning (grades 5-12)
  • Tuesdays @7pm, YAA musical theatre watch party (all ages)
  • Wednesdays @4pm, Modern Composers’ Songbook (grades 9-12)
  • Thursdays @7pm, YAA musical theatre watch party (all ages)
  • Fridays @4pm, Singing in Film (grades 9-12)
  • Saturdays @11am, Dancing Through Musical Theatre History (grades 5-12)
These classes are supported by your generous donations to help cover teacher salaries, administrative fees, and costs for technology support.

Visit YAA.org/virtual for more information.

The impact of the Covid-19 crisis on our organization has been significant. We were unable to perform our March 28 production of “Beauty and the Beast” at the Music Center at Strathmore. (The production is rescheduled for June 12.) Similarly, we are unable to present our production of “Frozen Jr.” at Amp by Strathmore as planned on May 2-3. (The production is rescheduled for a June 19.) We canceled our Silent Auction Fundraising Event in March. And all of our revenue-producing musical theatre classes are currently suspended.

Your donation will make it possible for our teaching artists to keep teaching, and for our students—and the entire community— to “play on” during this difficult time!
