Help TdR Bring Back our Most Beloved Show!

About the Project

About Théâtre du Rêve

We are Atlanta’s unique French-language theatre company, bringing Francophone stories to the American stage in high-quality French, English, and bilingual productions.

About the Project

Vive La Fontaine!
is a delightful, whimsical modern retelling of the Fables of Jean de La Fontaine, perfect for all ages. Audiences loved this show when it premiered in 2006 and have been asking for it ever since. We’re excited to bring it back for friends old and new -- including a whole new crop of French students through our student matinee program!

La Fontaine used innocent stories (think The Tortoise and the Hare) to write brilliant commentary on French life and politics in the reign of Louis XIV. We take those verses and re-imagine them in a wide range of theatrical styles – a silent film, an ESPN broadcast, a Cajun song, and much more.

We're raising funds to support the cost of remounting this production and to support our deeply discounted student matinees. Even full-price tickets don’t begin to pay the cost of producing high-caliber, professional, bilingual productions like ours, but this year we're actually lowering the price of our student matinees, to guarantee that every student who wants to see the show can afford to attend.

Individual gifts are the key to this effort
– and during this Power2Give campaign, donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs until we reach our goal!

There’s no better time to support TdR! Please donate now, and join us March 13 – 29, 2020 for Vive La Fontaine!
