About This Project

Help the Eiteljorg Museum bring world champion hoop dancer Tony Duncan (Apache/Arikara/Hidatsa/Mandan) to the 21st annual Eiteljorg Museum Indian Market and Festival on June 22-23, 2013.  Duncan is a rising star: a five-time world champion hoop dancer (and recent first-runner up), with appearances in Nelly Furtado's "Big Hoops" video, on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, at the Billboard Music Awards, and on May 10 at the Native American Music Awards.

Duncan and his group, Estun-Bah, will perform their thrilling dances as part of the spectacular lineup of Native American performers and artsits at this year's Indian Market and Festival.  (Visit www.eiteljorg.org for more information on Indian Market and Festival.)

Hoop Dance is an exciting form of storytelling dance using from one to 30 wooden hoops in elaborate sequences of rapid moves.  The hoops are interlocked to form appendages like wings and tails making butterflies, eagles, snakes and coyotes in a beautiful and athletic performance.

Your donation will make possible this one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience something amazing:  dance, stories, art, food, people -- including Tondy Duncan and Estun-Bah at this year's Indian Market and Festival.

Budget:  The budget for this Power2Give project is $2,500, which includes this 5-member group being in Indianapolis for three days.
