About This Project

We need to raise $3,920 to bring “GOD” to Indianapolis!

If you love The Daily Show and The Onion, then you'll love David Javerbaum, the irreverent, satirical, Emmy-award winning writer of The Last Testament, A Memoir by GOD. Meet the author of God's memoir at the JCC on May 6. That's right, God has written a memoir and you get to meet the medium through which God's words have been sent! Learn the answers to such pressing questions as: What really happened in the Garden of Eden? And, how in the world did Noah fit two of each and every animal on that one ark?

The JCC seeks assistance in raising funds to bring David Javerbaum to Indy on May 6 for a presentation that will leave your funny bone aching, followed by a meet and greet we can’t help but call “Jabber with Javerbaum.”

Audiences across the States have loved Javerbaum’s live appearances, and now we look forward to bringing his unique brand of humor to Indy as part of the JCC’s Ann Katz Festival of Books and Arts, Second Edition. God simply needs a little help to get to Indy.

For 15 years, the Ann Katz Festival of Books and Arts has brought top notch authors, filmmakers, fine artists and performers to an award-winning festival that enriches and enlivens the entire Indianapolis community. Hurricane Sandy threw us a curveball last November when several authors, including David Javerbaum, were grounded. Thus was born the Ann Katz Festival of Books and Arts, Second Edition, taking place May 6-9. Javerbaum is headlining this mini-festival, which also features Alicia Oltuski, author of Precious Objects:  A Story of Diamonds, Family and A Way of Life and the screening of the award-winning film, Besa: The Promise, in partnership with Heartland Truly Moving Pictures.  The screening will be followed by a discussion with the film’s executive producer, Bill Morgan.

We need to raise $3,920 and we welcome donations of any amount $1 and up. These funds are for:

  • David Javerbaum’s airfare
  • David Javerbaum’s room and board
  • Event expenses
  • Marketing expenses
