About This Project

The events of September 11, 2001 will forever be remembered as a tragic moment in American history.  Beneath this disastrous attack on American soil, the citizens of the United States of America demonstrated remarkable resilience, patriotism and resolve; proving the USA is a country that stands united for its freedom.  In remembrance, the Central Florida Ballet created an original production of historic value, "9/11 An American Moment."

“9/11 An American Moment” sets out to highlight the essence of the American spirit in the face of such attempt to disrupt the American way of life.  This original production of the Central Florida Ballet was recognized by the U.S. House of Representative as "the only company in the nation to have created a ballet on this fateful day in American history.”

We are seeking your assistance through generous donations to make it possible to bring this performance onto the stage of the Olympia High School Theater in the Fall of 2013.  There will be one performance for Olympia's high school students; offering an educational experience unlike any other to learn about the attacks of 9.11.2001.

We are seeking to raise a sum of $10,000; your generous donation will help cover expenses associated with the production costs.

Project Budget:
  • Personnel – Administrative/Box Office:  $1,650
  • Personnel - Artistic:  $2,850
  • Personnel - Technical:  $1,850
  • Theater Rental:  $1,100
  • Props/Sets/Miscellaneous:  $1,350
